Expanding on God's Commands

God's commandments are not just to be taken as is to what exactly they say. Commandments can be expanded on in common sense dictates that the commandment means more than just the main meaning. For example Stealing is wrong but what about other forms of stealing like clocking into work and then not putting in the work this is also stealing.
